The Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water, a public community water system, provides water for about 13,644 residents living in the area of Lake Benton, a city in Buffalo Ridge in Lincoln County, Minnesota. Established in 1979, the Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, including purchased water from Brookings-Deuel Rural Water System, Dawson, Lewis & Clark Regional Water System, and local groundwater from 25 wells that draw water from the Quaternary Undifferentiated, Quaternary Buried Unconfined, Quaternary Buried Artesian, and Quaternary Water Table aquifers.
