The North Branch Water & Light Commission provides water services to about 5,263 residents in the North Branch area of Chisago County, Minnesota. Founded in 1957, the North Branch Water & Light Commission collects water from six wells that pump groundwater from Mid Proterozoic Sedimentary, Mt. Simon, Quaternary Buried Artesian, and Mt. Simon-Fond du Lac Aquifers. The wells are drilled 220 to 762 feet deep, and the water is fluoridated to reduce tooth decay and disinfected to control microbes.
