The South River Sanitary District provides water for about 23,630 residents living in the Verona area, Virginia Established in 1966, the South River Sanitary District obtains its supply from Augusta County Service Authority (ACSA), which is a combination of these sources: surface water from Gardner Springs reservoir, and groundwater from four wells. The district also purchases from the City of Staunton, drawn from two reservoirs: Elkhorn and Staunton.
