The Fredericksburg City Water provides water for about 22,500 residents living in the Fredericksburg area, Virginia. Established in 1728, the Fredericksburg City Water collects water from surface water collected and treated at the following sites: Rappahannock River and Motts Run Reservoir at Motts Run Water Treatment Plant, and Ni Reservoir at Ni River Water Treatment Plant. Approximately 95% of water received is from the Motts Run Water Treatment Plant.
