The Town of Woodstock Water supplies water to about 5,955 residents living in the Woodstock area of Shenandoah County, Virginia. Woodstock Water Department pumps surface water from the North Fork Shenandoah River into the Woodstock Water Treatment Plant through a raw water intake of three 16-inch ductile iron pipes. The water is treated through chemical addition, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration processes, disinfected with chlorine, and fluoridated to minimize tooth decay. The finished water is stored in two reservoirs and delivered to the customers by high-service pumps.
