The City of Hutchinson Water, a public community water system under the Local Government Water Department, provides water for about 14,282 residents living in Hutchinson, the largest city in McLeod County, Minnesota. Established in 1855, the City of Hutchinson Water System currently obtains its supply from a groundwater source: five wells ranging from 400 to 475 feet deep, that draw water from the Quaternary Buried Artesian aquifer.
