Founded in 1908, the City of Montevideo Water System currently obtains its supply from five wells, groundwater sources that drill into the aquifer underneath the area. Additionally, the water system has a total storage capacity of 1.25 million gallons and a pumping capacity of 2,630 gallons per minute.
