The Cromwell Fire District Water Division provides water for about 14,316 residents living in the Cromwell area, Middlesex County, Connecticut. The Berlin Water Control Commission receives water from the District as well. Established in 1927, the Cromwell Fire District Water Division collects groundwater from four wells located in the northeast corner of the town. This facility is known as the Gardiner Well Field. The four wells reach into a massive aquifer that runs below the Connecticut River Valley.
