Putnam Water Pollution Control Authority, a public community water system under the City Water and Sewer Department, provides water to about 7,300 residents in Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut. Founded in 1855, the Putnam Water Pollution Control Authority System currently obtains its supply from blended sources. Groundwater sources include the Street Well Field, which has six sand-and-gravel-packed wells and four bedrock wells. Furthermore, a surface water supply from mixed sources, Roseland Lake, that converges to Little River, and interconnection to CT Water Company is also available.
