The Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA), a local municipal or public utility operator, provides water for about 58,000 residents living in the area of Fort Pierce, Florida. Established in 1972, the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority is currently obtaining its supply from wells that pump water from two groundwater sources, the Surficial Aquifer and the Floridan Aquifer.
