The Charter Township of Genesee Water, under the Township Department of Public Works, provides water for about 71,500 residents living in the area of Flint, Michigan. Established in 1838, the Township of Genesee Water currently obtains its supply from the Genesee County Drain Commissioner – Division of Water and Waste Services (GCDC-WWS), which uses a surface water source – Lake Huron.
