The City of Livonia Water, under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 96,942 residents living in the area of Livonia City, Michigan. Established in 1835, the City of Livonia Water currently obtains its supply via purchase from the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), which uses surface water from Detroit River, situated within the Lake St. Clair, Clinton River, Detroit River, Rouge River, Ecorse River, in the U.S. and parts of the Thames River, Little River, Turkey Creek and Sydenham watersheds in Canada.
