The Pennsylvania American Water - Blue Mountain Division, a subsidiary of American Water, provides water for about 23,763 residents living in the Norristown area, Pennsylvania, including Bushkill Township, Easton, Forks, Lower Nazareth, Nazareth, Palmer, Pen Argyl Borough, Plainfield, Stockertown, Tatamy, Upper Nazareth, Washington Township and Wind Gap. Established in 1886, the Pennsylvania American Water - Blue Mountain Division obtains its supply from a combination of surface water and groundwater sources. The surface water comes from Stony Garden Reservoir and Pen Argyl Creek. The groundwater comes from the Dietz Well, where it is pumped to the surface and treated.
