The Pittsfield Township Water, under the Township Utilities and Municipal Services Department, provides water for about 24,500 residents living in the Ann Arbor City area, Michigan. Established in 1834, the Pittsfield Charter Township purchases water from Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority (YCUA). YCUA purchases water from the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), formerly known as the Detroit Water and Sewer Department (DWSD). GLWA's water source is the Detroit River.
