The city of Plymouth Utilities is a public community water system under the Municipal Services Department that provides water to about 9,132 residents living in Plymouth, in Wayne County, Michigan. Founded in 1867, the City of Plymouth Utilities System currently obtains its surface water supply from the Detroit River, a surface water source for parts of the Thames River, Little River, Turkey Creek, and Sydenham watersheds in Canada, as well as the Lake St. Clair, Clinton, Rouge, and Ecorse watersheds in the United States.
