The South Norwalk Electric & Water (SNEW), a municipal water and electricity utility system, provides water for about 42,000 residents living in the area of Norwalk, Connecticut. Established in 1913, the South Norwalk Electric & Water System is currently obtaining its supply from four surface water reservoirs: City Lake, Rock Lake and Popes Pond Reservoirs in the Town of Wilton and the New Canaan Reservoir in New Canaan.
