The Charter Township of Waterford Water System, under the Township Department of Public Works, provides water for about 73,441 residents living in the area of Waterford, Michigan. Established in 1834, the Waterford Township Water Division currently obtains its supply from a groundwater source, 19 wells located at 11 different locations throughout Waterford Township that pumps water from the glacial aquifer beneath Oakland.
