Wellington Utilities, a public community water system under the /City/ Department of Public Works, supplies water to about 56,475 residents living in the Wellington, a village just west of West Palm Beach in central Palm Beach County and 66 mi (106 km) north of Miami, Florida. Founded in 1995, Wellington Utilities System currently obtains its groundwater source from the surficial aquifer. There are three (3) independent well fields located in different geographical areas and a total of 18 wells. The wellfields are intentionally placed and built to provide a safe and dependable source of water.
