The Township of West Bloomfield Water System, under the Township Water & Sewer Utilities Department, provides water for about 49,479 residents living in the area of West Bloomfield, Michigan. Established in 1833, the West Bloomfield Township Water & Sewer Utilities Department is currently obtaining its supply via purchase of treated water from the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA), which uses Detroit River through intakes in Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie. Also, GLWA may use the Lower Lake Huron Watershed whenever the demand arises.
