The Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID), a Special Service District, provides water for about 136,500 residents living in the Lake Buena Vista area, and Bay Lake City, including Walt Disney Company and its wholly-owned affiliates. Established in 1967, the Reedy Creek Improvement District has 11 wells and 4 pump stations, collecting all of its water from the massive Floridan Aquifer lying underneath the district area.
