The Worthington Public Utilities (WPU), a municipal potable water, sanitary sewer and electricity utility systems agency, provides water for about 13,288 residents living in the area of Worthington, Minnesota. Established in 1873, the Worthington Public Utilities’ Water System is currently obtaining its supply from a blend of sources: groundwater and surface water sources: purchased water from Lewis and Clark Regional Water System and 11 wells drawing from the Quaternary Buried Artesian and Quaternary Water Table aquifers.
