City of Canal Winchester Utilities is a public community water system under the Water Division of the Department of Public Service that provides water to about 9,286 residents living in Canal Winchester, in Fairfield and Franklin counties in Ohio. Founded in 1828, the City of Canal Winchester Utilities System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources. With more than 40 miles of water mains, three water towers, and more than 2,600 service connections, the water system operates and maintains a 2 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) ion-exchange water treatment facility including two well fields. Additionally, even though not yet utilized, the water system also maintains an emergency connection with the City of Pickerington and the Village of Lithopolis.
