The City Of Oberlin Water supplies water to about 8,600 residents living in the Oberlin area of Lorain County. Founded in 1887, the City Of Oberlin Water collects surface water from the Black River. The City of Oberlin Water Division maintains over 40 miles of water mains and one water treatment plant that can treat 2.25 million gallons of water per day. The water treatment consists of coagulation, softening, disinfection, filtration, fluoridation, and corrosion, taste, and odor control.
