The City of Tallmadge Water, a public community water system under the City Water and Sewer Department, provides water for about 18,000 residents living in Tallmadge, a city in Summit and Portage counties in Ohio. Established in 1839, the City of Tallmadge Water System currently obtains its supply from Lake Rockwell, located in Franklin Township, Portage County, two and a half miles north of Kent, Ohio. Water from Lake Rockwell is treated at the nearby water supply plant, pumped 11 miles to Akron's through three force mains into equalizing reservoirs, and distributed to more than 95,000 households.
