The Big Creek Water And Sewerage District supply water to about 11,837 residents living in the Belton area of Anderson County, South Carolina. Founded in 1972, the Big Creek Water And Sewerage District purchases treated water from Anderson Regional Joint Water System (ARJWS) and the Greenville Water System. The ARJWS's water is surface water from the U.S. Army of Engineers' Hartwell Lake Reservoir, while the Greenville Water System combines Table Rock Reservoir and Lake Keowee water.
