City of Willard Water, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 7,293 residents living in Willard in southwestern Huron County, Ohio. Founded in 1960, the City of Willard Water System currently obtains its supply from the West Branch of the Huron River, a 215-acre underground reservoir with a capacity of 2.3 billion gallons that receives raw river water via a pumping system. Additionally, from Willard Reservoir, public drinking water is available in Huron County's westernmost point, situated on St. Rte. 2 miles north of New Haven, on Highway 61 in the New Township of Haven, the underground reservoir was built in 1971 and gets water from the 88-square-mile neighborhood watershed.
