The Clemson City Water, a public community water system under the Local Government Water Department, provides water for about 17,953 residents living in Clemson, a city in Pickens and Anderson counties in South Carolina. Established in 1889, the Clemson City Water System’s surface water supply is supplied by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hartwell Lake Reservoir. The water from Lake Hartwell Reservoir is purchased from Anderson Regional Joint Water System (ARJWS). The plant operates 24 hours per day, every day of the year. In 2020, the plant treated 7.2 billion gallons of water.
