The Columbia County Water Utility provides water for about 101,967 residents living in the Martinez area. Established in 1790, the Columbia County Water Utility collects surface water from the Savannah River to the Jim Blanchard Sr. Water Treatment Facility on Point Comfort Road. Additional supply could also be withdrawn from the Clarks Hill Reservoir, and treated at the Clarks Hill Water Treatment Facility as needed.
