The Columbus Water Works (CWW), through the Board of Water Commissioners of Columbus, provides water for about 250,000 residents living in the Columbus region, including Fort Benning as well as parts of Harris and Talbot Counties. Established in 1903, the Columbus Water Works (CWW) collects water from the Chattahoochee River, which is surface water. The Chattahoochee River has been providing the area with a safe and dependable water supply for over 100 years.
