The Concordia Waterworks District No. 1, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 6,921 residents living in a town in Concordia Parish, which borders the Mississippi River and is located on the central-eastern border of Louisiana. Founded in 1905, the Concordia Waterworks District No. 1 System currently obtains water from groundwater sources, primarily four wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area.
