The City of Cortland Water, a public community water system under the Water and Sewer Department, provides water to about 7,104 residents in Cortland, in central Trumbull County, Ohio. Founded in 1874, the City of Cortland Water System obtains water from groundwater sources, primarily seven wells that drill into the Limestone Aquifer, a 300-foot-deep sandstone aquifer, underneath the area. Two wells are behind City Hall, and one is on Bradley-Brownlee Road; all four are in Willow Park.
