Franklin County Water System (FCWS), a public community water system under the Department of Public Works, provides water to about 5,691 residents living in Carnesville, Franklin County, Georgia. Founded in 1819, the Franklin County Water System currently obtains its supply from various sources. The majority of the water source is produced and owned by the water system from groundwater sources, primarily three wells located at 156 Thompson Road, Carnesville, 5665 Stone Bridge Road, Carnesville, and 275 Isbell Road, Carnesville, that drill into the aquifer underneath the area. Additionally, FCWS also purchases water from the City of Toccoa, the City of Lavonia, and the Banks County Water System.
