Gilbert-Summit Rural Water District is a public community water system under the Special Purpose District created by the Statute of the State of South Carolina. It provides water to about 7,795 residents in Gilbert, Lexington County, South Carolina. Founded in 1965, the Gilbert-Summit Rural Water District System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily seven wells that drill into the Middendorf Aquifer underneath the coastal plain.
