The Jackson County Water Company, a public community water system under the County Department of Public Works, provides water for about 15,903 residents living in the area of Jackson, a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Ohio. Established in 1817, the Jackson County Water Company System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, approximately 98% served by groundwater from wells drilled into the Teays River Aquifer. The remaining customers are served from water purchased from the following: the Scioto Water Inc. (which has as its source groundwater from Scioto River Valley Aquifer); and the Village of Oak Hill (which has as its source groundwater treated by the Jackson County Water Company and the Scioto Water Company.Jackson Drinking Water Quality
