The city of Jackson Utilities, a public community water system under the City Utility Department, provides water to about 9,691 residents living in Jackson, the county seat of Jackson County, Ohio. Founded in 1816, the City of Jackson Utilities System currently obtains its surface water supply from two reservoirs that receive their water from Little Salt Creek. Additionally, an emergency water source is available from Buckeye Creek, located downstream of the treatment plant.
