The Jones County Water Department, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 11,130 residents living in Gray, in Jones County, Georgia. Founded in 1807, the Jones County Water Department System is currently provided by the seven groundwater plants, located at Henderson Road, Masseyville Road, Griswoldville Road, Largo Road, Ethridge Road, Peach Street, and Highway 22, along with eleven deep wells, four booster pump stations, and more than 170 miles of distribution piping of various sizes. The Crystalline-Rock aquifers provide all of the water used in production.
