The City of Madison Water supplies water to about 6,427 residents in the Madison area of Morgan County, Georgia. Madison Water Department operates two surface water treatment plants. The Oconee Water Treatment Facility is located at 1121 Briar Lane and treats water from the Apalachee River's Lake Ocean, which has a moderate contaminants susceptibility rating. The Madison Water Treatment Facility is at 457 North Second Street and pumps from the Hard Labor Creek, a low-susceptibility source, and from the Doster Road Reservoir during drought seasons. The water contains fluoride, a water additive that encourages healthy teeth.
