The Oconee Water Treatment Facility is located at 1121 Briar Lane and treats water from the Apalachee River's Lake Ocean, which has a moderate contaminants susceptibility rating. The Madison Water Treatment Facility is at 457 North Second Street and pumps from the Hard Labor Creek, a low-susceptibility source, and from the Doster Road Reservoir during drought seasons. The water contains fluoride, a water additive that encourages healthy teeth.
