Northern Ohio Rural Water-South District, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 5,226 residents living in Norwalk Township, Huron County, Ohio. Founded in 1988, the Northern Ohio Rural Water-South District System currently purchases its supply from the City of Elyria and draws water from Lake Erie, the Huron River, Beaver Creek, and Martin's Run. Additionally, an emergency connection between the City of Elyria, Lorain County Rural Water District, and Avon Lake is available to support the Elyria Water Plant.
