The Polk County Utilities - Northwest Public Water System provides water for about 28,082 residents living in the Lakeland area, Florida. Established in 1861, the Polk County Utilities - Northwest Public Water System currently obtains its supply from a groundwater source, seven wells drilled into the Floridan Aquifer and is treated at six different water treatment facilities prior to distribution.
