Pulaski County Public Service Authority, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 9,452 residents living in Pulaski, a town in Pulaski County, Virginia. Founded in 1969, the Pulaski County Public Service Authority System currently obtains its surface water supply primarily from Claytor Lake and a secondary source purchased from the City of Radford from the New River. Additionally, the system has one primary and three smaller distribution systems that are approximately 160 miles long with varied diameter water lines, 16 storage tanks, and eight pump stations to provide for the average demand of 2.2 million gallons per day.
