Benton has multiple water providers: Benton Utilities, Salem Water, and Southwest Water Association, view all. This page provides information about Salem Water.

The Salem Water Association supplies water to about 16,737 residents living in the Benton area, Saline County, Arkansas. Founded in 1968, Salem Water Association purchases water from Benton Utilities and Central Arkansas Water (CAW). The Benton Utilities' water is surface water from the Saline River, while the CAW's water comes from Lake Winona and Lake Maumelle. The Saline River water from Benton Utilities is pumped to the Chenault Reservoir, while the water from CAW is pumped to the Jackson Reservoir. The water from the reservoirs is delivered by pipeline to the Jack H. Wilson and Ozark Point water treatment plants. The treated water is then distributed to the users via two water distribution systems.
