Southwest Water Users Public Water Authority is a public community water system under the local government that provides water to about 9,185 residents living in Benton, a city in and the county seat of Saline County, Arkansas. Founded in 1836, the Southwest Water Users Public Water Authority System currently purchases its supply from Benton Utilities and Salem Water Users. Additionally, Benton draws water from the Saline River, which supplies Chenault Reservoir, while Salem is supplied by Benton Utilities and Central Arkansas Water. Furthermore, Central Arkansas's water comes both from Lake Winona and Lake Maumelle.
