The Lower Rio Grande Public Water Works Authority (LRGPWWA)-South Valley, a public community water system that consists of eleven water systems in four distinct areas and currently serves fifteen Colonias communities in the region south of Las Cruces, from Brazito to the north end of Anthony, Butterfield Park & Organ on the East Mesa, Valle Del Rio, and High Valley. It provides water to about 11,178 residents living in Vado, an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. Founded in 2009, the Lower Rio Grande Public Water Works Authority-South Valley System currently obtains its supply from eight deep groundwater wells that pump from the Lower Rio Grande Basin.
