The Town Of Silver City Water Department provides water for about 16,852 people living in the Silver City area, Grant County, New Mexico. The Town Of Silver City collects groundwater from wells located in two different well fields - Frank and Woodward well fields. The Frank's Well Field consists of three wells (two of which are operational), all of which draw water from the Gila-San Francisco Water Basin. The Woodward Well Field consists of five wells that all draw water from the Mimbres Water Basin. The Gabby Hayes Well is a second well that collects water from the Mimbres Water Basin and provides water to the town. It is not, however, included in the Woodward Well Field.
