The City of Albemarle Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 17,603 residents living in Albemarle, a small city and the county seat of Stanly County, North Carolina. Established in 1857, the City of Albemarle Water System currently obtains its surface water supply from the Narrows Reservoir (Badin Lake) and Tuckertown Reservoir.
