The City of Asheville Water, under the City Resources Department, provides water for about 124,300 residents living in the Asheville area. Established in 1792, the City of Asheville Water collects water from city-owned surface water sources, the lake waters from North Fork and Bee Tree Reservoirs, and the Mills River.
