The Richmond County Water System, a municipally owned and operated water utility under the County Water Department, provides water for about 25,410 residents living in the area of Rockingham, North Carolina. Established in 1779, the Richmond County Water System is currently obtaining its surface water supply from Blewett Falls Lake or Pee Dee River. The County also purchases water from Anson County, which also uses water from the same source.
