The County of Wilson Water Services – City of Wilson Water System, provides water for about 50,836 residents living in the area of Wilson, North Carolina. Established in 1849, the Wilson City Water is currently obtaining its supply from two sources: the Contentnea Creek, consists of the Buckhorn Lake and the downstream Wiggins Mill Reservoir; and the Toisnot Reservoir, consists of Lake Wilson and the downstream Toisnot Reservoir. A connection from the Tar River Reservoir to upstream of Lake Wilson is also available as a water supply during emergency conditions.
