The City of Coppell Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works – Water Utilities, provides water for about 41,100 living in the Coppell, Texas. Established in 1955, the City of Coppell Water System is currently obtaining its supply via purchase from Dallas Water Utilities, which uses Lake Tawakoni, Lake Ray Hubbard, Lake Fork and/or the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. The water in the Elm Fork comes from Lake Ray Roberts, Lake Lewisville and Lake Grapevine.
