City of Granite Shoals Water, a public community water system under the City Utilities Services Department, provides water to about 6,795 residents living in Granite Shoals, Burnet County, Texas. Founded in 1962, the City of Granite Shoals Water System currently purchases its main supply from the Lower Colorado River Authority, where raw surface water is drawn from Lake Lyndon B. Johnson. Furthermore, groundwater sources are primarily wells that drill into the aquifer underneath Sherwood Shores 3, located in Hoover Valley.
